Armenians held a demonstration in front of the Turkish embassy in Tel-Aviv on April 24

Armenians during the demonstrations

It is the fifth year that the Armenians of the central and northern parts of the country gather on April 24 to raise their voice of protest against the Turks. The ceremonies devoted to the victims of 20th century Armenian Genocide had started 2 days before and this year such ceremonies were more than previous years. Already famous car march was held on April 22 and at the evening of the same day the Department of the Armenian Studies of Jerusalem Hebrew University had arranged a conference devoted to the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide with the participation of former and current members of the Knesset, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Israel Mr. Tsolak Momjyan, the delegation of the Armenian Patriarchate in Jerusalem and many guests.

Armenians of Haifa joined the local people

As obvious from the photos, the demonstration against the Turks in Tel-Aviv was also crowded. Armenians from Tel-Aviv, as well as from Petah-Tiqwa, Kholon, Bat Yam and the northern city Haifa were participating. The protest campaign began with the Armenian anthem, and then the Armenians sang many patriotic songs and introduced speeches.

                                        

 
Not only grown-ups participated in the demonstration, but also the representatives of the generation that will take care of the Armenian territories after they are returned. After the demonstration, the Armenians visited the St. Nicholas monastery of Jaffa where a holy liturgy was served.
