On October 28, the “Auditorium” hall in the city of Bat Yam was filled with the warm melodies of French chanson and the nostalgic spirit of old Paris. The concert, titled “The Legends of French Chanson,” brought together lovers of French music for an evening that was truly unforgettable.
The main stars of the night were Daniella Micheyev and pianist Igor Ostrovsky, yet one of the most memorable moments came when Tigran Gasparian, a well-known Armenian singer and distinguished vocal coach in Israel, took the stage. With his captivating performances, Tigran conquered the audience, breathing new life into the timeless classics of Charles Aznavour, performing them with heartfelt emotion and the unmistakable warmth of the Armenian soul.
From the stage, Gasparyan proudly declared:
“I am Armenian by origin, just like Charles Aznavour, and it is a great honor for me to perform these songs written by our great compatriot.”
Among the audience were Armenians from different cities across the country, who greeted his words with heartfelt applause and emotion. Gasparian’s renditions—particularly of Aznavour’s most beloved songs—became an outpouring of genuine feeling; his deep, resonant voice and commanding stage presence stood out for their sincerity and artistic mastery.
The concert also featured singer Olga Medvinsky, who enriched the evening’s musical palette with interpretations of celebrated works by Mireille Mathieu and Édith Piaf.
This musical evening in Bat Yam became not only a celebration of French chanson but also a proud expression of Armenian cultural presence in Israel, thanks to Tigran Gasparian’s talent, dedication, and love for his national identity.
After the concert, a group of Armenians went up to the stage to thank Tigran personally. As they did, many Jewish art lovers approached, asking with enthusiasm where and when they could next hear Tigran Gasparyan perform live.
