Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had a phone conversation with European Union Chief Diplomat Kaja Kallas. The situation in the region was discussed.
“The attack on peaceful nuclear facilities is completely illegal and prohibited by international law, and the international community must hold the Zionist regime accountable for this dangerous and unprecedented violation of the law,” the Iranian foreign minister was quoted as saying by the Iranian side.
Araghchi also criticized the resolution recently adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors on Iran’s nuclear program.
The EU’s foreign policy chief expressed deep regret and concern over the escalation of tensions in the region and stressed the EU’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and contribute to the restoration of peace and security in the region.
