The delegation led by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tr ần Thanh Mẫn is in our country at the invitation of the RA NA President Alen Simonyan. Within the framework of the visit, a Vietnam-Armenia business roundtable was held on April 2, in which the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan participated and gave an opening speech.
Hakob Arshakyan first welcomed the visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam and the representative delegation led by him to Armenia. The NA Vice President considered it noteworthy that the trade turnover between Armenia and Vietnam has been growing at a fairly rapid pace in recent years, stating that there is significant unused potential. In this context, he particularly highlighted the development of the export and import rates of alcohol, fresh fruits, various types of agricultural and other products, the promotion of commodity circulation and services, cooperation in the fields of high technologies, education, science and in other areas.
Hakob Arshakyan emphasized with satisfaction the fact that during the years of the USSR, as well as after the independence of Armenia, a rich experience of cooperation between the two countries was formed, there are traditions in the educational, cultural, scientific spheres that need to be preserved and developed.
“Thousands of Vietnamese students have studied at Armenian universities, there has been cooperation in mutual educational and scientific environments. In this regard, it is necessary to note that there is a mutual warm attitude between our peoples, and this, of course, can also serve as a very good basis for the development of economic ties,” Hakob Arshakyan noted.
The NA Vice President welcomed the creation of a platform for dialogue between businessmen thanks to such an initiative and expressed confidence that economic development plays an important role in expanding relations between the peoples of the two countries and at the state level.
According to Hakob Arshakyan, this high-level visit will give a new impetus to the development of economic, educational, cultural, and political ties between Armenia and Vietnam. In this regard, the NA Vice President referred to the recent visit of the delegation led by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan to Vietnam and expressed confidence that high-level mutual visits will be continuous and will serve to promote relations between our countries and peoples.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tr ần Thanh Mẫn also gave a welcome speech at the discussion and spoke about the importance of activating relations between the two countries, expanding economic ties, cooperation between business circles and implementing new initiatives. He also noted that there is unused potential in a number of areas. According to Tr ần Thanh Mẫn , Armenia can be a bridge within the Vietnam-EEU framework, which can be mutually effective.
The event was attended by members of the RA Government, representatives of the Vietnamese Government and the NA, and businessmen of both countries. The prospects for activating economic ties between the two states and implementing new initiatives were discussed.
