I think it is not dangerous for TRIPP, Simonyan on developments in Middle East and Iran

Journalists asked the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, whether the developments in the Middle East and around Iran pose a threat to the TRIPP project.

Simonyan expressed the view that they do not.

“I think it is not dangerous for TRIPP. I deeply regret the casualties that are occurring and hope that the events will last as briefly as possible, because they are taking place directly with our neighbor, and that concerns us. At the same time, we understand that this is a major geopolitical issue, perhaps one of the largest wars, which, thank God, has no connection to us in any way, and we hope that it will not affect Armenia’s interests in any way,” said Alen Simonyan.

According to him, it is also very encouraging to see that against the backdrop of that war, Armenia and Azerbaijan have managed to find common ground for peace and build peace together.

Simonyan added that Armenia must avoid being drawn into the ongoing events and ensure that the peace process is not harmed.

As for the Armenian community in Iran, when asked whether there are plans in case they decide to move to Armenia, the Speaker of the National Assembly gave an affirmative response.

“Yes, we have discussed such an option, but I should say that at this moment I have no information indicating that such a danger or trend exists,” he noted.
