If Implemented, the “Crossroads of Peace” Project Could Contribute to Deepening Armenia–Turkmenistan Cooperation, Says the President

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia, Mahmetgeldi Ayazov, on the occasion of Turkmenistan’s National Holiday – Independence Day.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion and conveyed his best wishes to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, wishing Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people peace, continued development, and multifaceted prosperity.

On the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the President expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his effective work and efforts toward strengthening Armenia–Turkmenistan relations, highly appreciating his contribution to the development of cooperation between the two countries and wishing him further success in his professional endeavors.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the key issues on the bilateral agenda and discussed prospects for expanding economic cooperation.

The President noted that, if implemented, the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative could create new opportunities not only in the economic sphere but also in the social and cultural domains, thereby contributing to the deepening of bilateral ties between Armenia and Turkmenistan.

Both sides highly valued the consistently high level of political relations and mutual visits between Armenia and Turkmenistan, as well as their effective and trustworthy cooperation within various international platforms.
