Today is the 9th anniversary of the four-day war. On the night of April 1-2, 2016, the Azerbaijani side, in gross violation of the 1994 and 1995 ceasefire agreements, launched a large-scale offensive along the entire line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, using heavy equipment, artillery, and military aviation.
A ceasefire agreement was reached on April 5. The Armenian side suffered more than 100 casualties, including children and the elderly. About 800 hectares of Nagorno-Karabakh came under Azerbaijani control. If border incidents were regularly recorded before this war, after April 2016 it was already obvious that Azerbaijan has no intention of resolving the issue through peaceful negotiations.
