Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has hailed his meeting with US Vice President James David Vance as very important and productive.
During a question-and-answer session with Cabinet members in parliament, Pashinyan recounted that no meetings had originally been planned at the White House.
The meeting with the US Vice President was the final event on the last day of his visit to the United States.“The idea for the meeting arose spontaneously, and it was organized in an unplanned manner,” Pashinyan explained.
“The meeting lasted quite a long time and included members of our delegation. Armenia’s Ambassador to the US, the head of the foreign relations department of the government staff, and my press secretary attended the meeting,” he added, describing the discussion as comprehensive and detailed.
Pashinyan noted that the meeting took place in a highly mixed environment, which they greatly appreciated. “The interest in holding such a meeting has been established on both sides,” he said.
When asked whether the recently signed strategic partnership agreement between Armenia and the United States might not be implemented due to the new US administration’s policies, Pashinyan responded: “It was signed during a transition period, a time when transition teams are being formed. The previous administration participated in the signing of this document as much as the new administration.”
