On September 2, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan, received the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Kristina Kvien.
As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Minister Sargsyan welcomed the Ambassador and expressed gratitude for the United States’ continued support for police reforms, emphasizing that this cooperation has produced tangible results.
Ambassador Kvien, in turn, thanked the Minister for the warm reception and noted that the United States highly values the strategic relations established between Armenia and the United States. She emphasized the effective cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the U.S. Embassy.
Both sides highlighted the importance of the August 8 meetings in Washington, which laid the foundation for new directions of Armenia-U.S. strategic cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed new areas of cooperation and joint programs, including measures aimed at the development of the Patrol Service, the Criminal Police, the Police Guard, and the educational complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
They also addressed the creation of a cyber laboratory and steps to be taken for the training of Police Guard personnel. Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
