On February 13, the Paris City Council unanimously adopted a resolution expressing deep concern over the “alarming situation” of former Nagorno-Karabakh leaders detained in Azerbaijan, according to the Armenian Embassy in France.

At the invitation of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Armenian Ambassador to France Arman Khachatryan attended the session. The resolution highlights Hidalgo’s visits to Armenia and her unwavering solidarity with the Armenian people, reaffirming the council’s full support for Armenia and its citizens.

Addressing the circumstances of the arrests, detention conditions, and what it describes as fabricated charges against the former Nagorno-Karabakh leaders, the Paris City Council strongly condemned their unlawful imprisonment and the sham legal proceedings against them.
