European Council President António Costa will visit Baku on March 11, where he will hold a series of high-level meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and representatives of the Azerbaijani government.
Costa noted that Azerbaijan is a partner of strategic importance for the European Union, with energy cooperation playing a key role in the EU’s efforts to diversify energy supplies and strengthen energy security.
The upcoming talks will also provide an opportunity to discuss the rapidly changing geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
“The European Union stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Azerbaijan,” Costa emphasized.
