The US Secretary of State and the Turkish Foreign Minister met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
According to the American side, Marco Rubio and Hakan Fidan emphasized the importance of close cooperation to ensure stability and unity in Syria and to eliminate threats to the United States, Turkey and the region.
“The Secretary of State noted the efforts of Ankara and Washington to achieve a just and lasting peace in the South Caucasus,” the US State Department reported.
Marco Rubio also emphasized the common goal of the United States and Turkey to stop Russia’s war in Ukraine.
