UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the consequences of Israel’s strikes on the Gaza Strip have created a humanitarian disaster of unimaginable proportions and once again called for an immediate ceasefire throughout the region.
“Release the hostages immediately and unconditionally. End all suffering. We have witnessed a humanitarian catastrophe of inconceivable scale. Stop the military operations in Gaza, in Israel, and across the region. Now,” the UN Secretary-General declared.
Guterres emphasized the need to intensify diplomatic efforts.
“U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest proposal presents an opportunity that must be seized to put an end to this tragic conflict,” the Secretary-General stressed.
He also underscored the necessity of establishing a stable ceasefire regime and resuming political dialogue, which, in his words, would help prevent further bloodshed and pave the way toward peace.
