UK Minister of State for Defense Vernon Coaker has arrived in Yerevan, the British Embassy in Armenia said in a press release.
“Building on Minister Doughty’s visit in August, when we set out our intention to upgrade relations to a Strategic Partnership, UK Minister of State for Defense Vernon Coaker is in Yerevan today to open the UK’s first permanent Defense Section demonstrating our long-term commitment to Armenia’s security and sovereignty,” the embassy said in a press release.
The visit comes after the UK announced the ‘historic’ appointment of the first resident UK Defense Attaché to Armenia.
