Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of Iraq: importance of implementing TRIPP and fully operating all channels of communication highlighted
President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan held a meeting with President of Iraq Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid in Turkmenistan during his visit for the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality.
During the meeting, the presidents discussed a wide range of issues related to the agenda of Armenia-Iraq bilateral relations, according to a readout from the Armenian President’s Office.
The presidents emphasized the importance of continuous efforts aimed at the dynamic development of Armenian-Iraqi relations, expanding political dialogue based on mutual trust, and deepening practical cooperation.
The heads of state exchanged views on initiatives aimed at regional security, peacebuilding, and strengthening stability. President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented the vision of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, highlighting the project’s broad potential as a pillar for regional communication, connectivity, and inclusive economic development.
In this context, the presidents noted that regional stability and connectivity are crucial for expanding transport and economic opportunities. The importance of implementing the TRIPP project and fully launching all communication routes was also emphasized.
