The Republic of Armenia has lifted the visa requirement for citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman. This exemption also extends to individuals who hold residency status in the aforementioned countries, as well as in the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America. The draft decision was presented at the May 22 session of the Government by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
“This amendment is grounded in economic considerations. It is evident that the change will facilitate travel to our country, promote people-to-people connections, including with Armenian citizens, and enhance Armenia’s attractiveness to potential investors,” the minister stated.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan underscored the significance of the decision, emphasizing that it is also expected to lead to a substantial increase in tourist flows to Armenia. He noted that the move would ease access for potential investors.
“This step has been welcomed by the business community, which is preparing accordingly. We hope it will be followed by opportunities to expand direct flight routes,” Papoyan added, highlighting that the Middle East is becoming one of Armenia’s key and strategic markets.
