We already have 34,576 people displaced from Karabakh who have received Republic of Armenia (RA) citizenship. Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan announced this during a discussion, titled “The Process of Socioeconomic Inclusion of Armenians Displaced from Karabakh,” today.
“About 1,000 applications—that is, draft decrees—are at the RA President’s staff; that is, within days, we will have a solution for another 1,000 people, and we will be able to speed up this process,” Sargsyan noted.
Interior minister added that there were no cases of application rejection, which shows the Armenian government’s commitment to implementing the integration process more quickly.
“We have had 28,000 displaced minors, of which about 12,000 have already received RA citizenship through passporting, taking into account [the fact that their] parents have received [Armenian] citizenship,” said the minister of internal affairs.
