The Indian Armed Forces are ready to respond to any steps by Pakistan that lead to escalation, said the wing commander (equivalent to the rank of lieutenant colonel) of the Indian Air Force Vyomika Singh at a briefing.
Earlier, the Indian Defense Ministry reported that in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, it launched Operation Sindoor, striking terrorist infrastructure on Pakistani territory. The Ministry noted that no Pakistani military facility was attacked as part of the operation. In turn, Pakistani authorities stated that India attacked five settlements in Pakistan, as a result of the strikes, at least 24 people were killed and 46 were injured.
"The strike on the terrorist camps was carried out with precision capabilities. Niche technology weapons were used with carefully selected warheads to ensure there was no collateral damage. The point of impact in each target was a specific building or group of buildings, all targets were neutralised with 'medical precision' and the results are a testament to the professionalism of the Indian armed forces in planning and executing their operations," she said during a briefing.
Singh noted that no Pakistani military establishment was targeted.
"India has shown considerable restraint in its response. However, it must be said that the Indian armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any steps by Pakistan that would aggravate this situation," Singh added.
