The parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held on Moscow's Red Square, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin was joined by almost 30 heads of state, including those of Armenia, China, Brazil, Venezuela, Slovakia and Serbia.
In addition, the Victory Parade was attended by soldiers from 13 countries, including China, Vietnam, Egypt, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, and Myanmar.
The DPRK military did not participate in the parade, but after the ceremony, the Russian President approached the North Korean officers and thanked them for their participation in the military operations in the Kursk region.
The media noted that while in the previous three years, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned the war in Ukraine in his solemn speech on Red Square on May 9, this time he said only a few words on the topic.
According to Putin, Russians preserve the memory of the "historical, victorious events" of the Great Patriotic War and the generation that bequeathed "to defend the homeland and national interests," as well as traditional values.
After the parade, the Russian President and foreign leaders laid flowers at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and took photos together.
