Another Victory for an Armenian Chess Player in Israel

ניצחון נוסף לשחמטאית ארמנית בישראל

Former member of the Armenian national chess team, Women’s International Grandmaster and International Master Lilit Galoyan delivered a successful performance in the Israeli Women’s National League recently held in Tel Aviv. Galoyan represented the team Hapoel Center Of Excellence in Chess Afula, playing on the first board.

The Armenian chess player completed the tournament undefeated, scoring 4 points out of a possible 5 (winning 3 games and drawing 2).

Following the tournament results, the Hapoel Center Of Excellence in Chess Afula team finished in second place, while the Armenian grandmaster received an individual silver medal for her performance on the first board.

This was not the first tournament in Israel for the Armenian chess player, and it is certainly encouraging that the Armenian international grandmaster is frequently invited to participate not only in international tournaments, but also in various prestigious Israeli competitions.

Thanks to my colleague Arman Galoyan for providing the report.

From the editorial staff:

We congratulate former member of the Armenian national chess team, Women’s International Grandmaster and International Master Lilit Galoyan on her outstanding performance and on winning the silver medal.
