Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry condemned an Iranian ballistic missile that entered Turkish airspace, saying the incident poses a serious threat to regional peace and security.
The ministry issued a statement strongly denouncing the missile attack against Türkiye and expressed full solidarity with its ally. “These types of actions constitute a serious threat to regional peace and security and are unacceptable,” the Defense Ministry said on X.
“We stand in complete solidarity with our brother Turkish Republic,” the statement noted.
Azerbaijan reaffirmed its support for Türkiye’s government, its people, and efforts to secure the country’s territory. “Azerbaijan stands resolutely by Türkiye,” the statement said.
Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry (MoND) announced that a ballistic missile fired from Iran and entering Turkish airspace was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems based in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Some missile debris fell on empty land in Gaziantep’s Sahinbey district, with no casualties or injuries reported.
