December 10th: International Human Rights Day

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” This sentence is enshrined in Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

On December 10, 1948, the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration, and in 1950, it proposed to celebrate December 10th as International Human Rights Day.

Armenia’s Law “On the Human Rights Defender” was adopted in 2003.
