Armenia’s Ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with the newly elected Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan congratulated Kaklamanis on his election as Speaker and wished him success in his new role. The importance of reciprocal high-level visits was also emphasized.

Speaker Kaklamanis praised the excellent relations between Greece and Armenia and pledged to do his utmost to enhance them at the parliamentary level. He announced plans to extend an official invitation to the Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly for an upcoming visit to Greece.

The two also discussed regional developments. He also spoke about Armenia’s relations with the European Union and prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation with Greece, particularly by giving it a more strategic character.

Speaker Kaklamanis stressed the consistent alignment of Armenian and Greek positions in international forums. He reaffirmed Greece’s support for Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that inter-state issues must be resolved exclusively through diplomatic means.
