The Kansas National Guard and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia held the Phoenix Platoon training, an annual event that has been a cornerstone of the Kansas-Armenia partnership for nearly 15 years.
From August 31 to September 11, Kansas National Guardsmen and Armenian noncommissioned officers from across the Armenian Armed Forces exchanged knowledge and best practices on NCO leadership and tactical planning. The training culminated in several days of hands-on exercises designed to strengthen individual and team leadership skills and deepen cooperation between U.S. and Armenian service members.
