Accompanied by Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Vahan Kostanyan, European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono visited the Matenadaran – Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts on September 14.
According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, at the Matenadaran, the guest explored the rich collection of Armenian manuscripts and their history, as well as the traditions of preserving and processing ancient manuscripts and producing replicas for museum display.
Armenia’s exemplary and internationally recognized contribution to the preservation of Armenian and global cultural heritage, including ancient manuscripts, was highlighted.
Vahan Kostanyan subsequently held talks with Magdalena Grono at the Matenadaran, during which they discussed Armenia-EU relations and addressed recent activities carried out within the mandate of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia and their effectiveness in the context of institutionalizing the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
