Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Hungary’s Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó held a telephone conversation during which they discussed bilateral issues between Armenia and Hungary.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the foreign ministers emphasized the active dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries, one of the key manifestations of which was the decision to open resident embassies in Yerevan and Budapest.
The ministers also exchanged views on upcoming programs.In parallel with the political dialogue, the parties stressed the importance of further expanding cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere.
In this context, Minister Mirzoyan expressed satisfaction with the ratification of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Armenia and Hungary and highlighted the need to fully leverage the opportunities it provides.
The foreign ministers also discussed efforts to deepen the Armenia-EU partnership, including through the more effective use of existing tools.
Regional issues were also addressed. Mirzoyan praised the supportive position expressed by Minister Szijjártó regarding the finalization of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Mirzoyan noted that the Armenian side views the signing of the agreement as the logical continuation of this historical milestone and proposed to the Azerbaijani side to hold consultations on its timing and venue.
