Reuters. Britain’s Prince Harry used a speech to send a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday (April 23), saying that there was still time to stop the war in Ukraine and no country benefited from the continued loss of life.
Speaking at a Kyiv security conference during an unannounced visit, the Duke of Sussex said the conflict could still be halted to prevent further suffering for both Ukrainians and Russians.
Harry, a former British army officer and founder of the Invictus Games for wounded veterans, said the destruction in Ukraine was not accidental but organised and intended to have long‑lasting effects.
Harry also called for sustained support for Ukraine from the United States “not out of charity, but out of its own enduring role in global security and strategic stability.”
He is expected to visit the de-mining HALO Trust charity, supported by his late mother Princess Diana, Britain’s ITV reported.
Prince Harry, the younger son of Britain’s King Charles, visited Ukraine twice last year.
