Suren Papikyan received Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Armenia

On February 13, the Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan received Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Armenia, David Allen.

Minister Papikyan congratulated David Allen on assuming the position and wished him success.

During the meeting, issues related to Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the defense sector were discussed.

Suren Papikyan emphasized the importance of Armenia-U.S. cooperation in the current period, when Armenia is in an active phase of defense reforms. Reference was also made to bilateral military-technical cooperation.

The sides particularly emphasized the areas of education, training, exercises, exchange of experience, and professional advisory support.

David Allen expressed the United State’s readiness to develop defense cooperation with Armenia, as well as support for the defense reform process in Armenia.

Issues regarding to regional and international security were also discussed.
